It's All About Control, Money & Power

In Canada today for the government, legacy media and big business: It’s all about Control, Money and Power.

When I think about Canada, I often conjure up images of natural beauty, diversity, and politeness. However, behind the scenes, it’s a different story. The Canadian government holds immense power in shaping laws, policies, and regulations that profoundly impact the lives of its citizens.

As the primary entity responsible for upholding Canada's infrastructure the government wields substantial control over the nation's direction. However, the extent of this control is often a point of contention, with debates arising over issues such as privacy rights, environmental regulations, and social welfare programs.

The financial landscape in Canada is largely dominated by a handful of major banks, also wielding considerable influence over the economy. These institutions drive the flow of money, lending practices, and investment decisions, essentially dictating the financial well-being of individuals and businesses. Their pursuit of profit and market dominance propels these entities, shaping not just economic policies but also societal dynamics.

In our digital age, mass media plays a pivotal role in shaping public opinion and influencing the societal discourse. In Canada the problem is exacerbated by the fact that approximately 70% of the income of the largest media outlet (CBC) receives approx. 1.4 billion dollars per year from the government. In addition 6 conglomerates control approx. 95% of the media landscape. Their power to shape perceptions and beliefs has a profound impact on public sentiment and political outcomes, often raising concerns about the concentration of influence.

Massive corporations in Canada fundamentally shape the economic landscape. Yet they still receive many bailouts, grants, tax breaks, and loan forgiveness. These entities hold immense power, not only in driving economic growth but also in influencing government policies through lobbying and financial clout. Their pursuit of dominance in their markets and profit often leads to debates around labour rights, consumer protection, and corporate responsibility, all of which underscore the influence they exert over our societal framework.

It’s essential to know and recognize how these spheres of influence impact our daily lives. They require counterweights to mitigate their unchecked power. Furthermore, the evolving landscape of technology along with public use and awareness of digital devices by a majority of society means we are just beginning to reshape the dynamics of our lives in Canada.

It's imperative for citizens to remain informed, engaged, participate in and support initiatives aimed at fostering transparency and accountability. In the words of former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau, "The state has no business in the bedrooms of the nation."This sentiment encapsulates the need for the balance of power to shift from these entities to people like you and I.

AS A MATTER OF FACT YOU ALREADY HAVE THAT POWER, WITH TWO THINGS. THOSE BEING YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE, AND YOUR ABILITY TO PURCHASE THE PRODUCTS & SERVICES THAT ARE GOOD, BEST, AND RIGHT FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY, YOU JUST HAVE TO MAKE SURE YOU CONTROL AND UTILIZE THEM FOR THE BENEFIT OF YOUR FAMILY AND THOSE CLOSE TO YOU.
